The Lee County Sheriff's Office has charged a Fort Bragg soldier with allegedly raping a woman he went on a date with.

According to an arrest report, 34-year-old Corry Paul Brooks was at his home on Oak Leaf Rd. in Sanford with the victim and became enraged when she refused his advances.

The woman ran to a bathroom and called 911 on her cell phone, but Brooks allegedly took the phone and forced the woman into his car.

The victim said she jumped out of the vehicle at one point, but was forced back inside.

Brooks allegedly drove the woman to a dead-end road in Hoke County and raped her. He then took the woman home.

She was treated at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for a broken arm and other injuries.

Brooks is now charged with first-degree rape, first-degree kidnapping, felony assault by strangulation, felony assault by inflicting serious bodily injury, and interfering with 911 communications.

Bond was set at $350,000.

The Army said Thursday SFC Brooks is assigned to the 737th Ordnance Company.
