Hearing for Wayne Community College shooter postponed
Kenneth Stancil was supposed to be in a Goldsboro courtroom Wednesday on a first-degree murder charge.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WTVD) -- Kenneth Stancil was supposed to be in a Goldsboro courtroom Wednesday on a first-degree murder charge. Now, he will have to wait another three months.

Stancil's attorney, Walter Webster, told ABC11 that he has been wrapped up in another high profile case for the past few weeks and had to reschedule Stancil's hearing for Wednesday.

Webster has filed nearly a dozen motions that might have been heard Wednesday. Among them, motions to:

- Collect evidence to be used in setting a bond (right now, Stancil is being held without bond).

- Hear the prosecution's theory behind the murder charge

- Obtain copies of all the evidence against Stancil

- Record the race of potential jurors

- Know if the prosecution is using any former crimes against Stancil

- Get copies of all video or audio evidence against Stancil

- Sequester all witnesses

Stancil's next court date has been set for July 22.

The 20-year-old is facing a murder charge in the shooting death of 44-year-old Ron Lane on the campus of Wayne Community College in Goldsboro earlier this month.
