Johnston County bus driver honored for never work in 20 years
Shannon Brock was honored by the school system

JOHNSTON COUNTY (WTVD) -- One bus driver in Johnston County has something to brag about -- not missing a day of work in 20 years.

Shannon Brock was honored by the school district for her two decades of outstanding service and perfect attendance. She was also named Johnston County School's 2015-2016 Driver of the Year.

Brock is known by her coworkers as the "bus cheerleader," because she is always willing to help wherever and whenever. Fellow drivers said she is always the first to ask if she can help cover afternoon bus routes.

Her colleagues said she greets every student on her bus with a smile and pays attention to details.

School administrators, fellow drivers, and students all said they respect and love her tremendously.

Brock started with the school system in 1996. She also works as a kindergarten teacher assistant at Glendale-Kenly Elementary.
