Large commercial building burns in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- A huge fire lit up the night sky over Fayetteville early Saturday morning as firefighters battled a blaze in a large commercial building.

The fire was first reported just before 3:30 a.m. at 128 North Water Street -- off Person Street -- near the Cape Fear River Bridge.

Investigators said the warehouse-style building was fully involved in flames when firefighters arrived. There was nothing they could do to save the structure and instead focused on containing the blaze.

No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
