Man arrested for leaving children inside hot car
A Wake County man has been arrested and charged with leaving his three children inside a hot car.

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A Wake County father is charged with several counts of misdemeanor child abuse.

Terrance Ford, 28, is accused of leaving his three girls inside of a minivan that wasn't running, while the temperature inside crept above 100 degrees.

Raleigh police say around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday they received a call about small children left in a vehicle in the 6200 block of Glenwood Avenue, which is a shopping area.

When police arrived on scene, they found that the passersby had already taken the girls out of the car. Their father was inside one of the stores. He was arrested and charged with three counts of misdemeanor child abuse.

Two of the girls are six and five years old. The youngest is only 10 months old. Police say they are doing okay physically and are staying with other family.
