ZEBULON, N.C. (WTVD) -- A man is behind bars after police said he stabbed his former fiance with a screwdriver in Zebulon.
Police responded to the North Church Street home on Thursday just before 8 p.m. According to police, Anthony Penque entered the home and got into a fight with his ex-fiance Virginia Scudder, 49, and two other people.
The fight moved outside the home where witnesses report Penque stabbed Scudder multiple times with a screwdriver.
Scudder, of Garner, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Penque, also of Garner, was taken to the Wake County Detention Center where he is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and communicating threats. Penque is being held under a $1 million secured bond.
Police said this matter remains under investigation and additional charges may be filed pending the outcome of the investigation.
