Man arrested in Chapel Hill break-ins
Police arrested Keith Wright on Wednesday

CHAPEL HILL (WTVD) -- Authorities have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with several crimes in downtown Chapel Hill in the past two weeks.

Chapel Hill police have charged Keith Demetrius Wright of Durham with two counts of felony larceny of a motor vehicle, two counts of felony burglary, two counts of felony breaking and entering to a motor vehicle, one count of misdemeanor damage to property, one count of felony larceny, and one count of misdemeanor larceny.

The charges stem from a rash of break-ins, thefts and vehicle thefts along Franklin and Rosemary streets dating back to Sept. 21.

UNC Chapel Hill sent out an Alert Carolina to faculty, staff and students about the incidents, which involved fraternity and sorority areas.

At the time of his arrest, Wright was also served with three warrants for probation violation.

Authorities say additional charges may be forthcoming.

Wright is currently being held in the Orange County Jail under an $110,000 secured bond.
