Matthew Morrison, 31

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A man was arrested after police say he intentionally rammed his truck into a barrier on the interstate. Investigators say a woman and a pit bull dog were inside the vehicle at the time.

It happened on eastbound I-40 near I-440 Saturday morning.

Raleigh police say it started as a domestic dispute between the driver, Matthew Morrison, 31, and the woman passenger.

No one was seriously injured in the crash.

Morrison was charged with first degree kidnapping, animal cruelty and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. His criminal record dates back to 2010 with mostly drug charges.

According to arrest warrants, investigators found a large folding knife concealed underneath his pants.

Morrison was taken to the Wake County Detention Center under a $125,000 bond. His first court appearance is Monday.
