CARTHAGE, NC (WTVD) -- Moore County Sheriff Neil Godfrey announced Tuesday that his deputies have charged a man with murder in an Aberdeen woman's drug-related death.

Sheriff Godfrey said 22-year-old Meghan Burum was found dead in the backseat of her car in the Cameron area of Moore County Monday.

Investigators have charged 33-year-old Ivory Eugene Robinson of Vass with one count of felony murder.

He was being held without bond in the Moore County Detention Center in Carthage.

"North Carolina law clearly states that a person can be charged with murder when that person unlawfully distributes a drug to someone and the ingestion of that drug causes the death of the user," said Sheriff Godfrey in a statement.

Deputies did not say what kind of drug was involved.
