Man drowns in northern Orange County pond

ORANGE COUNTY, NC (WTVD) -- The Orange County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man drowned in a pond on Carr Store Road.

Deputies were called to the scene around 11:11 p.m. Thursday. The victim's brother said he found the man's car unoccupied near one of their farm ponds.

Deputies and search and rescue crews searched the pond. Rescuers eventually pulled a body from the water.

Authorities told ABC11 there are no obvious signs of foul play, but the investigation is ongoing.

Deputies did not immediately identify the victim.
