FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Authorities in Fayetteville have charged a man in connection with an indecent liberties incident involving a child.
Just before 8 a.m. on May 31, police officers were called to the area of North Street and Melvin Place about a man having indecent liberties with a 7-year-old.
The man, identified as 27-year-old Jamar Thompson, was an acquaintance of the victim's family at the time of the incident, according to authorities.
Detectives obtained a warrant for Thompson's arrest a short time later.
On Wednesday, police arrested him in the area of Colonial Drive and Fayette Avenue without incident.
He is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $100,000 secured bond.
