RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The Raleigh Police Department says a 20-year-old man was killed in a shooting in the 6300-block of Shadowland Crossing Friday evening.

It happened around 6:40 p.m. at the River Birch at Town Center apartments near Old Wake Forest Road.

Police said Casty St. Louis was rushed to WakeMed by ambulance, but there was nothing doctors could do.

Police have not commented on what led up to the shooting, but neighbors told ABC11 that St. Louis was visiting his girlfriend when he was shot near the playground area at a time when it was filled with children.

The woman who called 911 said that just moments before the shooting she saw a black Jeep with a woman and two men inside speeding through the neighborhood. That's when she said one of the men shot St. Louis twice in the stomach and once in the arm.
