Man rescued from burning home in Fuquay-Varina

FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. (WTVD) -- Firefighters rescued a man from the roof of his burning home just outside Fuquay-Varina Friday morning.

It happened in the 1600-block of N.C. Highway 42 near the intersection with Deerbrook Street.

A man living in the house crawled out on the roof after the blaze started. Firefighters used a ladder to get him to safety.

The fire was quickly put out. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

There is interior damage to the first and second floors of the home.
