Suspect named in Fayetteville shooting

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Police have identified a suspect in connection with the weekend shooting of Christopher Ramon Alexander.

Kevin Maurice Bruton, 29, has been charged with attempted first degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and felony conspiracy.

Investigators say Alexander was shot around 2:45 a.m. Saturday while being robbed by Bruton and a second unknown suspect.

Alexander was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center to undergo surgery, and later transferred to UNC Chapel Hill Medical Center in stable condition.
