Men charged in series of home burglaries
Two members of an alleged band of thieves linked to a series of home break-ins in Cary and Apex are now facing new charges.

CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Two members of an alleged band of thieves linked to a series of home break-ins in Cary and Apex are now facing new charges.

Kevon Maurice Brown and Frank Jackson are charged with breaking and entering, felony larceny, and conspiracy breaking and entering in connection with a home burglary in Holly Springs in March.

Court records show the men are accused of stealing electronics and jewelry valued at $25,700 from a home on Sun Pointe Drive.

Both men faced a judge on Friday who issued each of them a $750,000 bond and ordered them to have no contact with their co-defendants.

The four suspects are accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of jewelry, electronics, and other valuables at five homes in Apex and Cary.

Authorities located the men in Florida after stolen property was discovered there.

Homeowner Lisa Moore said she still feels uneasy even though there's been an arrest.

"I absolutely feel violated. I feel like our house was random," said Moore.

Investigators say the suspects were very calculated. They believe the group likely knocked on the front doors of the targeted homes. When no one answered, they entered through a back door.

Moore says she's grateful she was running an errand at the time of the break-in.

"We're going to forward stronger, better. God had a hand in this," Moore said. "I don't want to say this is a blessing, but I've been more thankful in the past month than I've been in ages."

Police say they haven't ruled out the possibility that the group is linked to other unsolved home burglaries.
