RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Another round of Moral Monday protests wrapped up at the Legislative Building Wednesday evening.

This week, the group focused on women's rights. They protested for equal rights and equal pay.

They also voiced their continued plea for lawmakers to expand Medicaid. They argued without that, hundreds of thousands of women don't have access to preventive screenings.

Protesters also voiced anger over the recently signed abortion bill, which requires a 72 hour waiting period.

"That has already been won through the Supreme Court and for our General Assembly to, bit-by-bit, chip away at our right to have control over our bodies, is also shameful," said Michelle Laws, the Executive Director of the North Carolina NAACP.

The group said it will be back again next Wednesday in Raleigh and will focus that protest on voting rights.

No one was arrested in Wednesday night's protest.
