Motorcyclist killed in Raleigh crash
Raleigh police are investigating after a motorcycle was involved in a fatal crash on Poole Road at Old Poole Road Wednesday evening.

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Raleigh police have charged a man with hit and run after a motorcyclist was killed Wednesday.

It happened on Poole Road at Old Poole Road around 5:30 p.m.

Investigators said 51-year-old Matthew Colvin was behind the wheel of a 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass, when he attempted to make a left turn onto Poole Road, failing to see a 1992 Kawasaki motorcycle driven by 35-year-old Bobby Rashad Davis.

Davis was transported to Wake Medical Center where he later died from injuries.

Police said Colvin drove away from the scene after the crash and was later stopped by a RPD officer.

Colvin was charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle, felony hit and run, improper left turn, and driving with a suspended driver's license.
