DRIVER RESCUED FROM BURNING CAR

A group of Good Samaritans were caught on cell phone video saving a man's life early Sunday morning, as they yanked the driver out of his burning vehicle near Richmond, Virginia.

The driver was stuck in the burning car until a man with a hammer busted out the sunroof helping others pull the man from the flames.

The driver was hospitalized and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

LAVA THREATENS HOMES

In Hawaii, residents are facing a slow moving, but very deadly threat.

Dozens of residents in a rural area of Hawaii's Big Island have been placed on alert as flowing lava from an erupting volcano continues to advance. It's moving at the rate of about 10 to 15 yards an hour.

Officials say there is no way to successfully divert the lava. The only thing to do now is to let Nature run its destructive course.

DEER WALKS INTO HOTEL

A four-legged visitor tried to check into a hotel in State College, Pennsylvania.

The deer walked right in when the automatic door at the Days Inn opened Friday morning.

It then sprinted past the check in counter as an employee watched. Eventually, the deer got trapped in the bathroom hallway.

State game commission officers were called to handle the animal.

'DOGTOBERFEST'

Dogtoberfest in Tucson, Arizona brought out everyone from gigantic dogs that could see right over the booths to little guys who prefer to be carried.

Many of the pooches came out in their Halloween costumes.

They could let their inner Picasso loose with some paw paintings. There was an obstacle course, "musical mats" or musical chairs for dogs, and even some pampering with doggy massages.

There were contests for best costume, dog/owner look-alike, and best trick.
