RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Raleigh police said a 19-year-old man was killed Wednesday in a two-car crash on Capital Boulevard.
It happened shortly before 1 p.m. near Simms Creek Road.
Police said 18-year-old Aaleyah Russell was driving south on Capital when she lost control of her SUV and crossed the median. The SUV then struck a truck driven by 43-year-old Gregory Adams, which was driving in the opposite direction.
A passenger in Russell's vehicle, Ashanie Russell, was pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger, 14-year-old Michael Gregory, was injured.
Adams and Michael Gregory were taken to WakeMed with life-threatening injuries.
Aaleyah Russell and 8-year-old Colton Foster, a passenger in Adams' vehicle, were taken to WakeMed with serious injuries.
Police said preliminary findings show wet road conditions were a factor in the crash.
The northbound lanes of Capital Boulevard were closed for about three-and-a-half hours due to the crash.
