Pedestrian struck, killed on Morganton Road and McFayden Drive in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Fayetteville police say a man was hit and killed in the area of Morganton Road and McFayden Drive Sunday morning.

Fernado Rodriguez, 23, of Fort Bragg was crossing Morganton Road around 5:45 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle.

Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 25-year-old Jessica Scott, was not injured.

Officials had to close Morganton Road between McFayden Drive and Tollhouse Drive while they investigated. The road reopened just before 10 a.m.

There's no word yet on whether charges will be filed. The accident is still under investigation.
