RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Raleigh police have arrested a man for a vehicle theft linked to a report of a carjacking Saturday.

Endrell Dwayne Oliver has been charged with stealing a white Chrysler Pacifica.

Investigators say it appears the carjacking did not occur.

Police found the vehicle Saturday morning in the parking lot of a shopping center in the 3600 block of New Bern Avenue.

Investigators believe the theft was a previously unreported larceny that took place overnight.

They also believe the theft is related to that report of a carjacking Saturday morning at the intersection of Milburnie Road and North Raleigh Boulevard.

Police say shots were fired Saturday morning.

There have been no reports of injuries, and charges have not yet been filed in connection with the gunfire.

Police believe a second person was involved in the morning's events, and the investigation into what happened continues.

Oliver was taken to the Wake County Detention Center.

He is behind bars on a $20,000 bond and scheduled to face a judge Monday.
