RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Three Raleigh teens were robbed this week at gunpoint according to police who have arrested a teenaged neighbor for the crime.
Raleigh detectives have charged 18-year-old Antionwan Haskins with three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
According to court documents, including a just released search warrant, it all happened at a home in the Riverbrooke development in southeast Raleigh. A 16-year old boy who lives at that home, a 16-year old boy who lives next door, and teenage girl were held up and their cell phones were stolen Monday. The documents indicate a parent of one of the teens tracked a stolen phone to Haskins' house which is few blocks away in the same neighborhood.
A neighbor told ABC11 Wednesday that Haskins lives in Raleigh with his grandmother. Police who raided the house Tuesday say they had been called there a few days earlier to investigate reports of gunfire. Police seized a skull mask, three cell phones, a book bag, and a pistol with the serial number removed among other things.
A judge told Haskins that he faces decades in prison for the latest charges against him. Haskins already has a lengthy arrest record and has been convicted of two crimes in Cumberland County - assault and having a weapon at a school. He told the judge he wanted to represent himself but the judge appointed a public defender despite his wishes.
He is in jail on a $300,000 bond.
