Crime scene tape was still up around the home Friday.

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Raleigh police are investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy after being called to a home in northeast Raleigh Thursday afternoon. Saturday afternoon police said they are now considering the case a homicide.

Emergency crews were called around 2 p.m. to the 5200 block of Somerset Mill Lane about a "cold blue involving a child."

In a 911 call, a woman says the child was playing and "just passed out."

Authorities said the toddler was taken to the hospital where he later died.
