Raleigh scammers asking for VFW donations

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Local VFW officials say scammers are going door-to-door in Raleigh pretending to be collecting money for the organization.

There have been five different reports of people knocking on doors asking for money or used car donations.

"Very rarely do we go door-to-door, but if we do we'll have nametags. We'll have our hats. We'll have business cards," said Andrew Zinkievich with the VFW.

If someone knocks on your door, get all the information you can along with a description of the person and call police.
