DURHAM (WTVD) -- The Durham Police Department hopes the lure of cash will help them find the person who torched one of its police cars.

Police say someone used an accelerant to light the cruiser on fire in the early morning hours of Saturday, Sept. 21.

Officers had parked it at Old Trail Drive and Covington Lane in an effort to deter burglars in the Treyburn neighborhood.

Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator R. Hinton at (919) 560-4582, ext. 29254 or CrimeStoppers at (919) 683-1200.
