3 charged in home invasion shooting
Fayetteville police reveal new information about a Friday home invasion and shooting.

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Police say they've identified a second wounded suspect in a home invasion robbery and shooting Friday evening and say the resident of the home has also been charged.

It happened around 5:15 p.m. in the Massey Hill subdivision at a house on Mayview Street.

Detectives said their investigation has revealed 27-year-old Roy Lee Hawk and 23-year-old Martize Douglas forced their way into the home and demanded money and property.

But while they claimed they were armed, so was the resident of the home - 42-year-old Harold Williams - who fired at the robbers.

Hawk was unable to run because of his injuries. He was found at the scene by police and was listed in critical condition at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Douglas was also wounded but got away. He showed up at the hospital about two hours after the shooting and was listed in serious condition.

Both men were on active GPS monitoring through NC Probation and Parole at the time of the attempted robbery. They both face charges of common law robbery, breaking and entering, and felony conspiracy.

Police said Williams is a convicted felon and should not have had a gun. He now faces a weapons charge.

Detectives said the investigation suggests the robbery was not random, but they didn't elaborate.
