RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A week before Black Friday, shoppers at Crabtree Valley Mall found themselves dealing with a blackout.

The lights went out shortly after 11 a.m. Saturday morning. Stores had to suspend sales and shoppers hit social media sharing video and pictures of people gathered in the dark.

People tweeted, "did someone forget to pay the electric bill at Crabtree Mall" and "just sitting in the dark at work because the power went out in the entire mall."

By noon, the power was back on and shopping resumed.

Duke Energy Progress reports about 646 customers around the mall were without power.

At this time, it is unclear what caused the outage.
