DURHAM (WTVD) -- A man suspected of a fatal shooting Thursday night at the Brier Creek Walmart was taken to the Wake County Detention Center this morning.

25-year-old Tavarese Vine was arrested Tuesday night in Durham.

Raleigh Police said he opened fire around 10:40 p.m. Thursday outside the Walmart. 39-year-old Jerry Sumpter was killed and 36-year-old Emil Sherwood was injured.

Court records show both victims have prior drug and weapons charges but investigators haven't mentioned a possible motive.
