ROXBORO, N.C. (WTVD) -- The girlfriend of a man shot and killed during a home invasion early Sunday morning is now facing charges in connection with the crime.

Authorities in Roxboro say the man, 25-year-old Jonathon Ziminack, broke into a home just after 5 a.m. when he was shot in the stomach by the home's owner. He later died from his injuries.

Person County Sheriff Dewey Jones told ABC11 they are not releasing where the home invasion happened or the name of the homeowner, because of threats of retaliation.

Authorities did say the suspect and the homeowner were acquaintances.

Ziminack's girlfriend, 20-year-old Cody Alicia Bowling is currently in jail under a $75,000 bond on conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary charges.

Authorities said she dropped Ziminack off at the house and was supposed to come back and pick him up.

Bowling could face additional charges in connection with the case.
