Fayetteville police have arrested three teens in connection with rental cars that were stolen and taken to South Carolina.

Police said four vehicles were stolen from the Hertz Car Rental on Raeford Road on Wednesday morning.

Detectives were able to track one of the vehicles to Myrtle Beach, S.C., but it was empty. Myrtle Beach police then found a second vehicle and tried to stop it.

Authorities said the suspects inside tried to get away by driving onto a golf course. When the suspects finally stopped on a "green" of one of the holes, officers were able to detain 16-year-old Tyriek Tripp and 18-year-old Austin Hagee.

Both Tripp and Hagee were charged by SC officers for the crimes they committed there. Hagee is being held in the Horry County Detention Center awaiting extradition back to Fayetteville. His bond was not available.

Tripp was released to family members and surrendered to officers at the Cumberland County Detention Center., where he is currently being held. His bond was not available, either.

A third vehicle was recovered in Fayetteville, in the possession of 18-year-old Daniel Bollar. He was also booked at the Cumberland County Detention Center. His bond was set at $20,000.

All three are charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and breaking and entering, among other charges.

The fourth vehicle, a gray 2014 Nissan Cube with Florida registration CTPY56, has not yet been recovered.

Anyone with information concerning the break-in and motor vehicle thefts, or the location of the Nissan Cube, is asked to contact Detective B. Chandler with the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 824-9241 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).
