PINE LEVEL (WTVD) -- A man is facing charges after crashing his SUV into a Johnston County convenience store early Wednesday morning.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. at a BP gas station at the corner of US 70 and Peedin Road in Pine Level.

Authorities said Teo McPhatter of Smithfield was stopped at a fuel fill up station, took off, and then crashed into the store.

One person inside the store suffered minor injuries, but the driver was not hurt.

McPhatter was charged with DWI and damage to real property.
