No charges filed in north Raleigh standoff
A standoff involving a Raleigh Police department SWAT team at a north Raleigh townhouse ended early Sunday with a man taken into custody.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Raleigh police say no charges will be filed against a man who surrendered Sunday morning after a standoff involving a Raleigh Police Department SWAT team at a north Raleigh townhouse.

Raleigh police say just before 2 a.m. the man came out and surrendered.

He was taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation.

Police were called to the home in the 11000 block of Field Towne Lane to check on the welfare of a 30-year-old man at the home.

The neighborhood is right off of Capital Boulevard, before Route 98.

SWAT teams surrounded the neighborhood with guns drawn, ordering neighbors to stay inside for several hours.
