Pamela McAllister captured home security video of a thief casually strolling up the steps to her Durham townhome and swiping a package from her front porch.

The holidays are over, but ABC11 viewers are still complaining about stolen packages.

It happened just days after Christmas while McAllister was out of town.

"My daughter's grandmother text me and asked if we received the package yet, and I said 'what package?'" McAllister said.

When McAllister reviewed her security video, a clear image appeared of a black male with dreadlocks talking on a cell phone.

"I was really shaken," she said. "It was really disturbing. It was a gift for my daughter."

McAllister learned she was not the only one targeted in her neighborhood on Stratford Lakes Drive.

At least two other neighbors also reported similar crimes to police.

"We gathered this morning to talk about it and make sure that this would be reported to our neighborhood watch so that they will be on the lookout," said McAllister.

McAllister plans to sign for delivered packages from now on, hoping the thief who stole her daughter's present won't strike again.

"We work really hard and her grandmother works really hard, and she put her money into that gift, and it's disheartening to know that these things happen," she said.

Durham police haven't made any arrests in the case. The agency has received eight reports of stolen packages in Stratford Lakes Drive neighborhood since mid-November.
