HURDLE MILLS, N.C. (WTVD) -- Two teams battled it out for a good cause Saturday afternoon in the 3rd Annual Triangle Charity Polo Classic. The event raised funds for Transitions Guiding Lights Caregiver Support Center, a caregiving organization in the Triangle.

In addition to the polo match, there were contests with prizes for Best Hat, Best Dressed Spectators, and Craziest Pants. At halftime there was the traditional divot stomp on the field to replace grass divots turned over by horses.

During that time kids enjoyed a horse stick pony race.

The event was held at Crooked Creek Farm from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Organizers say the total isn't in yet for the amount of money raised Saturday, but in the past two years they've brought in $80,000.

ABC11 is a proud sponsor of the event.
