Troubleshooter helps man suffering from Parkinson's disease get insurance
When a Wake County man couldn't get the coverage he paid for, he got in touch with Diane Wilson.

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Health insurance is key, especially when you're battling a health issue. So when a Wake County man couldn't get the coverage he paid for, he got in touch with me.

Mitchell Truskolaski suffers from Parkinson's disease and desperately wanted health care.

"I haven't had insurance for a long time," he said.

Mitchell applied for insurance through healthcare.gov last spring.

"I called them and told them what I was making and they gave me a cost of what it would cost me," he said.

Mitchell was approved for insurance through CoventryOne and paid the amount due - $270.

"Everything was supposed to take effect the 1st of May," he said.

Instead, by the middle of May, Mitchell was still not covered.

He called several times to CoventryOne and says he was told to keep waiting.

"They took my money but no response, and that was the frustrating thing," Mitchell said.

Mitchell emailed me, and I got in touch with the insurance company and he got confirmation of his coverage and his insurance card.

"Now with the card, I can get the items that I need to have done," Mitchell said. "Thank you for your time, I needed this because I'm short on patience."

A rep with CoventryOne thanked us for bringing this to their attention.
