RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Raleigh police are investigating a fatal wreck that happened on Jones Sausage Road, just east of I-40, Sunday morning.
Police said it happened around 7:30 a.m.
Timothy Cooper, 34, was driving traveling north on Jones Sausage Road with his wife, Rebie, 30.
A 2011 Buick, driven by 19 year-old Keondre Griffin, slammed into the back of the Cooper's Chevrolet SUV. The impact caused the Cooper's car to veer off of the road, down an embankment, and into a tree.
The Coopers were both taken to WakeMed, where Rebie Cooper died as a result of her injuries.Timothy Cooper's injuries are said to be non-life-threatening.
Griffin was not injured and has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, speeding, and failure to reduce speed.
Police are continuing to investigate this crash.
