Vice President Joe Biden coming to Durham Wednesday

The White House says Vice President Joe Biden will come to Durham Wednesday to participate in a discussion on the "Cancer Moonshot."

During his 2016 State of the Union Address, President Obama called Biden to lead a new, national "Moonshot" initiative to eliminate cancer as we know it. The White House also announced a $1 billion initiative to jumpstart the work.

Duke University spokeswoman Sarah Avery confirmed it would occur on the campus of Duke's School of Medicine but had no other information.
