Wake Forest police investigate fatal stabbing
Edgar Hardison, 21, died of his injuries after a stabbing in Wake Forest early Saturday morning.

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WTVD) -- A 21-year-old Raleigh man died of his injuries after a stabbing in Wake Forest early Saturday morning.

An eyewitness told ABC11 it happened in the 10500 block of Ligon Mill Road around 12:30 a.m. at a gathering of sorts that turned deadly.

"Kids were saying 'You're not dead man, wake up, wake up please,'" said eyewitness Sara Kulp.

Kulp just happened to be driving by a Wake Forest business center when she began seeing officers and emergency responders swarm the parking lot.

"We heard them say 'man down' to the other police that arrived," said Kulp.

Police say Edgar Hardison was the victim.

"We saw them pushing on his chest and everyone was just crying," said Kulp.

Hardison was rushed to WakeMed but died of his injuries.

Police said they believe the stabbing was not a random act, but don't know what lead up to the incident.

"We gathered that some sort of fight broke out and it was really surreal because I've never seen that in person," said Kulp. "It still feels strange to know that happened."

Police are asking anyone with information to call the department at (919) 554-6150.
