WENDELL (WTVD) -- Search warrants made public Wednesday reveal new details about a June home invasion in which five masked gunmen terrorized a Cary family in the middle of the night.

According to affidavits filed with two search warrants, some of those arrested in connection with the crime have given Cary police names of at least four of the gunmen.

One of the search warrants allowed police to raid a home in Wendell where police arrested John Battle Jr., the man allegedly shown in a bank surveillance picture taken the night of the home invasion.

In that picture you see a masked man wearing blue latex gloves.

A detective writes in the affidavit that the masked man had kidnapped one of the home invasion victims and the victim was in the car when the picture was taken at the ATM.

Tips from the public and law enforcement helped identify Battle, according to the search warrant.

A spokesman for Cary police was asked about how a picture of man with his face covered could generate so many tips.

"It was surprising to us," said Capt. Randall Rhyne. "We were very glad it did and we are always encouraging the public to call us whenever they have information about crimes."

Battle is the only one currently charged with being inside the house. But the others named in the search warrant are all behind bars on related charges except for one man identified as Travon Wall.

Those related charges include accessory after the fact of the home invasion and the armed robberies of two Cary convenience store in the days leading up to the home invasion.
