Woman hit and killed by Amtrak train in Raleigh

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Raleigh police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a train near the intersection of Hillsborough Street and Beryl Road.

It happened around 3:40 p.m. Saturday.

Amtrak said the train involved was Train 74 which runs from Charlotte and Raleigh. No one on the train was injured.

Police have not released the victim's identity, but did say she was female.
