Drive-thru prayers in Raleigh
Drive-thru prayers offer the ability to pray with church members on-the-go

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Some say people are not showing up to pray at church like they used to, but there is a place in north Raleigh where people can roll up for a prayer on-the-go.

Covenant Church on Strickland Road offers drive-thru prayer in its parking lot. Volunteers walk up to a car, ask what they can pray for, and go from there. Sometimes drivers request a blessing, others have more serious burdens like an illness, a marriage dilemma, or a life-changing decision. Whatever the request, the prayer warriors listen and act.

They even keep a running prayer list, so volunteers can continue praying even after the drivers have left.

They say it's not a gimmick to get people to their church, or any church, but a way they can impact their community.

"This is how Jesus did church. He was out there with the people doing what he was supposed to be doing on this earth and that's what we're trying to do," said volunteer and Covenant Church member Shannon Rosengarth.
