Video shows rocket part breaking
NASA released the slow-motion video

PROMONTORY, Utah (WTVD) -- Slow-motion video just released by NASA shows what happened during a test of a booster rocket that's intended to power deep-space missions - including a possible trip to Mars.

The Space Launch System (SLS) will be the most powerful rocket that NASA has ever made.

The video shows the booster rocket's nozzle plug breaking into pieces.

The plug is installed over the booster to prevent dust particles and moisture from accumulating inside prior to ignition, and shattered pieces were found as far as 2,000 feet away after the test finished.
