March Madness brings freebies
Spring doesn't officially begin until March 20, but March Madness is already underway and to celebrate both, retailers are offering some freebies for you.
FREE BRACKET POSTER
If your college basketball brackets are filled out, you can keep track of all the March Madness with a free poster-size bracket at Staples in store from March 14-16.

FREE ICE CREAM CONE
North Carolinas Primary is set for March 15, and after casting your vote, you can swing by 3 Triangle Dairy Queen locations for a free cone. The free cones are part of Free Cone Day on March 15, as a way to kick off the arrival of warmer temps. During Free Cone Day, Triangle Dairy Queen will also be accepting donations for the local Duke Children's Hospital and Health Center. Throughout the past 10 years, Triangle Dairy Queen has raised more than $120,000 for the local Children's Miracle Network hospital that has been used for research, care and support programs to help both families and children.

FREE CHERRY BLOSSOM TOURS IN WASHINGTON D.C.
If Spring Break plans have you headed to the Nations Capital for the National Cherry Blossom Festival, free tours are available through the National Park Service Rangers.
There are morning tours, evening lantern tours, and a Pets and Petals Tour guided by Rangers. Tour and talk dates and locations can vary at spots around the Tidal Basin. But, tours will happen every day from March 18 - April 3 at the Tidal Basin Welcome Area, located near the paddle boats at Maine Avenue Southwest and Raoul Wallenberg Place Southwest. Those dates have been adjusted to accommodate an earlier peak bloom than initially predicted. The Welcome Area was previously scheduled to be active between April 2-17.
Peak bloom for cherry trees near the Tidal Basin in 2016 is expected to occur sometime between March 18 and 23. That's when 70 percent of the blossoms are expected to be fully open.
