Endless Yard Sale returns to NC
The yard sale stretches for miles

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Yard sales have their season, and usually people putting their stuff in the driveway are looking to clear out clutter inside their homes. But, one local woman admits she's doing it because she needs the money. And her reason is certainly relatable.

Furniture, clothes, baby items, kitchen stuff...those are all the things you expect to see at most garage sales. But Sherri Bostic has a whole lot more to offer.

"I'm selling cars at the yard sale," she shared.

And the sale she's setting up goes well beyond her front door...it stretches 40 miles!

"From Sampson County, it crosses into Cumberland County so all the churches and people with big yards are renting out their yards," Bostic explained. "We have extended it into Fayetteville by Cape Fear High School and Vander."

Bostic started the Maxwell Road Endless Yard Sale in 2015 after her husband was diagnosed with cancer and she needed money to help pay his medical bills. She figured she was not alone, and started spreading the word. This year, she's dealing with a tragedy - her father's death.

"[My father] and Mama did not qualify for anything," Bostic said. "So we are basically selling things to pay nursing home bills and hospital bills and other things that go with his care."

And that means big deals for customers that stretch for miles.

"Come early, or come late if you want Clearance," she instructed. "Have lots of cash in small bills. Patience. Going up and down Maxwell Road last year, it was very congested. So have your patience on and just come and enjoy the day!"

Food will also be sold at various locations along Maxwell Road. The sale starts at 7 a.m. Saturday,

Bostic says people are even calling her from South Carolina to be part of the sale. There's still time for you to rent space if you want to sell your stuff.
