ABC11 Together: Bicycle Man collects for kids
Between 40 and 50 bikes were collected to be given away at Christmas

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- ABC11 Together highlights good deeds, community needs, and how our viewers can help.

This weekend, a local organization is asking for your donations for children in need.

The Bicycle Man Community Outreach Program is a nonprofit organization dedicated to children from the Sandhills area. In addition to giving bikes and computers to the kids, BMCOP provides the homeless and veterans with bicycles for transportation.

The charity is taking part in two community events this weekend. The first was a Charity Yard Sale at Cary Towne Center on Saturday. People brought bikes to donate and some just shopped. A portion of all sales goes to the Bicycle Man Charity.

They collected between 40 and 50 bikes to give away at Christmas.

The second event this weekend is a prayer service at New Life Bible Church in Fayetteville, celebrating The Bicycle Man's 25 years of service to the community.

The prayer service and celebration will take place on Sunday at 4 p.m. at New Life Bible Church, 1420 Hoke Loop Road in Fayetteville.
