ABC11 Together: Helping Hand Mission needs your help

Now, the Helping Hand Mission in Raleigh could really use your help getting kids ready to go back to school.

The Helping Hand Mission is trying to outfit about 700 children this year with backpacks and basic school supplies.
Volunteers have been busy packing plastic bags with all the supplies students will need for the classroom, but a lot more is needed.
"We basically need backpacks, because as you see today, we are having to use plastic bags," said volunteer Sharon Chavis. "But we do need backpacks, we need anything that anybody can come and contribute and donate for us for these kids in the community."
The Helping Hand Mission has already distributed supplies to about 200 kids in need, when year-round school started.
