Heart of Carolina Food Drive reaches its goal
ABC11 viewers helped to donate 6.2 million pounds of food for families in need.

DURHAM (WTVD) -- We're proud to announce that the annual ABC11 Heart of Carolina Food Drive reached its goal of collecting over 6.2 million pounds of food for needy families around the Triangle.

The drive collects food and funds to stock the shelves of food banks for the winter months.

The food collected in our drive will help feed more than 650,000 people in our area who are food insecure, including many children who don't have consistent access to food.

It's not too late to donate. Click here to learn how.

Thanks to all of you who contributed and we hope to see you again next year.

If you were on TV during the many live cut-ins on Wednesday, you can click here to see them.

This year, you can also win a $500 Kroger gift card and a $500 food bank donation in your name by entering our "Pay it FOODward" photo contest. Simply take a creative photo of yourself making a donation, submit it via this link, and share with your friends.
