Comfort Zone Camp in desperate need of volunteers

WAKE FOREST, NC (WTVD) -- Comfort Zone Camp is a nonprofit bereavement camp for children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, or primary caregiver.
The free camps are loaded with fun camp activities that are actually therapy sessions. The confidence building programs and support groups break the emotional isolation grief often brings. Comfort Zone Camps are for kids 7-17. In NC alone, 70,000 children get survivor benefits. That means 70,000 kids have lost a parent or guardian.
This year's camp in Wake Forest is the weekend of September 30. But volunteers are desperately needed! There is an orientation at the Boys & Girls Club of Morrisville August 6 where you can get more information, see if it's a good fit, and go from there. Camp organizers say this camp transforms the lives of the kids who come and learn coping skills for their grief.
