First responders join churches in Habitat build
Fayetteville first responders teamed up with area churches for the first Fayetteville Habitat for Humanity Faith Build.

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Fayetteville first responders teamed up with area churches for the first Fayetteville Habitat for Humanity Faith Build.

On Monday, the police and fire departments competed to erect the walls of Habitat homes along Hedgepeth Street. Land for the homes was donated by the As One Fellowship. An annual prayer walk in the city bears the same name.

The quickest, most efficient builders came from the Fayetteville Fire Department, but they didn't let the police department go home empty-handed. In good nature, they placed plastic firefighter hats on the second place PD team.

The build ended in prayer with more than 40 volunteers.
