Internet falls in love with Florida police officers in viral posts

GAINESVILLE, Florida -- Cue the love birds! Officers from the Gainesville Police Department have captured the eyes of America and perhaps the heart of many admirers.

In a post to Facebook on Sept. 10, three officers were captured before their night shift during the aftermath of Hurricane Irma.

"Officers Nordman, Hamill and Rengering...part of the night crew getting ready to do some work," the caption read.

That simple post has led to an all-out infatuation over the male officers. The post has been shared over 110,000 times with over 70,000 comments on the post.

In response to the newfound fame, Gainesville police confirmed that there will be a calendar forthcoming benefiting Irma recovery efforts in Florida.

"We are dying with the comments. You've actually made our chief blush with some of them," Gainesville PD said on Facebook.

To those out there interested in Officers Nordman and Hamill, bad news for you: both men are married, the department confirmed.

As if the frenzy was not enough, Gainesville Police Department posted a photo of more officers -- which has now gone viral.

As you could guess, the comments are downright hilarious and bring much needed laughter after the recent devastation across Texas and Florida.
